About the Artist
Tammy Schulz lives right here in Mountain View but was raised in West Plains. While attending West Plains schools she studied under local art teachers Kathy Grigsby, Alice Vandergriff, Roy Hathcock and Eric Bryant. Tammy began painting as a teenager
and learned to oil paint from her Sunday School teacher and local mail carrier Marie Walker. Tammy’s first oil painting was an old blue pickup traveling down a snowy lane and she finished it when she was 16 years old. A love of painting ever after was born.
She enjoys painting with oils from time to time, dabbles in watercolors but has found a love of acrylics. She is inspired by many artists, classic and modern, but has a style all her own. She has a love of old buildings, particularly churches, schools and historic mills. Tammy enjoys photography and painting. Her favorite references for her painting is her own photography.
“Art is feeling more than seeing” –Tammy Schulz
